Who's responsible for your data
Joseph Riley, trading as Skillshed, is responsible for personal data collected through skillshed.net. For anything about your data, email hello@skillshed.net.
What we collect and why
- When you buy a course: your name, email address, billing country and order details, collected by Stripe at checkout. We use them to deliver your courses, send receipts and help if something goes wrong. Our legal basis is performing our contract with you.
- When you email us: your email address and whatever you tell us, used to reply.
- Your basket: kept only in your own browser's storage, so it remembers your courses between pages. It never leaves your device.
We don't use advertising or tracking cookies on this site, and we don't sell your data to anyone.
Who we share it with
- Stripe processes payments and holds your card details. We never see your full card number.
- Cloudflare hosts the site and delivers your downloads, which involves processing basic technical data such as your IP address.
- Google Fonts supplies the site's fonts, which means your browser requests them from Google.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK, under safeguards approved by UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for 6 years, because UK tax rules require it. Emails are kept only as long as needed to deal with your query.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, or to have it corrected, deleted or restricted, and you can object to how we use it. Email us and we'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
